Mark & Traci,
My family is completely blessed to have purchased one of Charlie and Herbie puppies.
Our dog “Chester” is a great all around pet, as a worker in the field and as a companion for our family.
Your 4 month training program was well worth the money. When I got Chester back after his training, I was completely amazed with his hunting abilities and what a 14 month old pup could actually do. I run a pheasant hunting operation here in South Dakota, so I needed a well trained dog and I got just that! When guiding this last fall, the hunters couldn’t believe he was only 15 months old, smart, disciplined, and full of energy.
Hunters shot more than 250 pheasants over Chester this fall and he loved retrieving every one of them.
As you can tell I am completely satisfied with this dog and I will be in touch with you about getting another one.

TLC Labradors - Training At TLC Labradors

TLC LABRADORS offers professional dogs training for all breeds of dogs.

We have experience in capitalizing on the strengths, minimizing the weaknesses, and adapting to the learning styles of individual dogs in order to bring out the best that they can be. We are known for getting good results with difficult dogs, soft dogs, and dogs with problems, as well as for our success with dog other have said could not be trained. Our success has been with all breeds of dogs.

Every dog trains differently. We have a general training program for our dogs but every dog trains differently. Each dog has different things that motivate them to want to work for you. We take the time and patience it take to figure out what motivates each and every single dog, and then modify our training techniques to each dog. This allows us to get the most possible potential out out each dog so we can develop it into the type of dog that you hope to own. Thanks to our record of satisfied owners, and those that have seen our dogs work, referrals are our greatest source of business.

Below are our training programs that we offer. These are general outlines of our training programs. The amount of time that it take each dog may vary a bit depending on your expectations of the dog. If you have any questions about our programs please feel free to email or call us. We would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Training Programs Available

Program #1 - Obedience Training

This is a 1 month program that includes:

Obedience, heel, sit, stay, come, crate training
General manners such as jumping and nipping
Whistle commands

This will be a dog that is a good citizen the the family can enjoy. THIS IS NOT HUNTING TRAINING - THIS IS AN EVALUATION TIME TO SEE WHAT FURTHER TRAINING YOUR DOG WOULD NEED.

Program #2 - Waterfowl and Upland Hunting Training

This is a 4 month program that includes all elements of Program 1 obedience plus:

Further extension of obedience in the field
Gun shot conditioning around the dog
Field training including ducks, pheasants, and Quail
Electric collar conditioning
Trained to Retrieve to hand reliably (Force Fetch)
Basic marking, on land & water
Quartering, and teaching a dog to use its nose
Steadiness is also encouraged at this stage of training

This is a nicely trained dog that you can enjoy hunting with.

Program #3 - Handling / Blind Retrieves

Time frame varies in this program:

You dog will be trained on skills to complete blind retrieves

This is considered to be a finished dog.

If you do not see a program that fits your needs, we can develop a program for your dog. Specialized programs may alter the amount of time it takes to train you dog. Call or e-mail for further information.
