Willow Creek Recreational Area

Willow Creek Recreational Area

Located just 1 1/2 miles off of Hwy 13 southwest of Pierce. Willow Creek Recreational Area covers 1,600 acres, including a 700 acre flood-control reservoir. The recreation area offers camping, fishing, boating, wind surfing, water skiing, swimming, and handicapped accessible fishing piers. A 5-mile hiking, biking, cross country skiing and horseback trail winds through the area. Park roads may also be used by horseback riders. In the winter, roads and the lake surface (ice permitting) are open to snowmobiles. All camping is first-come, first-served and limited to 14 days. There are 101 pads in the campground, 80 with electrical hookups. The modern shower house has laundry facilities and a dump station. Fees for camping are $7, with an additional $4 for electricity. Anglers will find crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish, walleye, northern pike, tiger musky and bullheads. Parts of the recreation area are open to hunting. Species available include: pheasant, quail, mourning dove, rabbit, squirrel, and a variety of water fowl. Deer hunting is allowed, but is restricted to archery, muzzleloader or shotgun slug only. Bird watchers will also find an intriguing array of bird life (eagles, geese, etc) to capture their fancy.
