WELCOME TO THE CITY OF PIERCE
The City of Pierce will be working on several projects in the summer
of 2006. There will be a 30 x 100 ft. addition to the east end of
the existing fire hall building. This will allow for the housing
of bigger fire equipment in the future, provide for an additional
training room, and to display a 1925 beautifully restored fire truck.
Another project the City of Pierce will be involved with is a housing
development west of the high school which will consist of ten new
city lots. The third project consists of the replacement of five
blocks of clay tile sewer line that was originally installed in
the 1930s. Finally, a new well will be constructed west of
town which was needed to increase the capacity of the Citys
water supply due to the future growth of the city, and to possibly
replace an existing well in the city that has had high nitrate levels
in the past. The entire well project is scheduled to be completed
by January of 2007. The 100 x 593 ft. piece of property where the
new well will be located will be used as a small city park in the
future.
